First Class Machinist

Hapco Engineers is an established, family-owned engineering company based in Welshpool, specialising in precision machining and quality workmanship.

We are seeking an experienced First Class Machinist to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking for secure, long-term employment within a professional workshop environment.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the manufacture of quality precision components, including:

• Setting, operating and troubleshooting lathes, mills, drills, slotting machines.

• Strong manual turning skills and a minimum of 3 years experience as a First Class Machinist.

• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.

• Selecting appropriate tooling and applying machining techniques.

• Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality control.

• Working independently while contributing positively to the workshop team.

What We’re Looking For:

• Fully qualified First Class Machinist (Trade Certificate)

• Minimum 3 years’ post-trade machining experience

• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings

• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
