Job Description
In these part-time positions (permanent and parental leave cover until August 2027), you will be a member of the Patient Services Centre and report to the Patient Services Manager. Your responsibilities will include both front- and back-office administrative processes for the hospital. You will be based at Epworth Eastern in Box Hill, and you will work on a rotating 7-day roster with shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
You will make an impact by:
Processing patients prior to hospital admissionAssisting patients, visitors and medical specialists with admission and discharge related enquiriesProviding excellent customer service when working in the main or ward receptionCompleting ad hoc bookings for unplanned / after-hours admissionsCompleting other activities including health fund validations, estimates, patient attendance scheduling and performing informed financial consentTo be successful in this role…
You will be a dynamic customer service orientated business officer who takes pride and ownership in their work. Your professionalism, ability to embrace flexibility and work in a changing environment will see you settle into your new role well. You care about the way you make people feel and want the hospital experience to be special for the patient, family, medical team and your work colleagues alike.

About Eastern
Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility with 14 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services. Our redeveloped site delivers positive, meaningful, and sustainable impact on the health and wellbeing of our community, delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbourne's east.
