Chefs/Cooks | Cedars Tavern

A brand-new kitchen is opening at Cedars Tavern at the end of September, and we’re building the team now.

We’re looking for Chefs and Cooks who take pride in their food, work well with others and want to help set the standard in a new kitchen.

Successful candidates may be able to start early, with onboarding at Prospect Hotel Motel or O’Donoghues before transitioning to Cedars.

• Help launch a completely new food and bistro experience

• Work with an experienced Head Chef and supportive kitchen team

• Enjoy an easy local commute from Mount Druitt and surrounding Western Sydney suburbs

• Build experience across different sections of the kitchen

• Prepare and cook quality pub and bistro meals

• Work across grill, pans, fry, prep and other sections as required

• Deliver consistent food quality, presentation and service timing

• Support stock rotation, preparation and waste control

• Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen

• Work closely with the wider team during busy service periods

• Experience in a pub, bistro, restaurant or busy commercial kitchen

• Trade qualifications for Chef positions, or solid practical experience for Cook roles

• Confidence working across grill, pans, fry, prep or other kitchen sections

• Availability across a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays

• Strong food safety, organisation and preparation habits

• A reliable teammate who communicates well and takes pride in their work

Licensed since 1971, Cedars Tavern is a well-known Emerton local entering an exciting new chapter.
