About the role
PROJECT MANAGER — SCAFFOLDING Cairns, QLD · Full-time
Run the job from the first phone call to the final invoice.Instant Alloy has been putting up scaffolding across Far North Queensland since 2006 — residential, commercial and industrial, from single-storey jobs to multi-level builds. We're looking for a Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of project delivery.
This isn't a coordinator role. You'll own the quote, the program, the crew, the margin and the close-out. If a job runs well, that's on you. If it doesn't, you're the one who sees it coming and fixes it.
What you'll actually be doing• Managing scaffolding projects from quote acceptance through to completion and invoicing • Planning labour, materials, equipment and transport, and keeping the schedule honest when site conditions change • Being the point of contact for builders, contractors and site teams — site visits, meetings, straight answers • Preparing quotes, tracking budgets and margins, and picking up cost risk early rather than at close-out • Spotting variations and additional works, and converting them • Leading leading hands, scaffolders and yard crew — direction, priorities, performance, capability • Reviewing drawings, scope and site requirements before a single standard goes in the ground • Keeping SWMS, permits, handovers and site records complete and current • Holding the safety line. WHS legislation, scaffold codes of practice, site inspections and incident response
What you'll need• Advanced Scaffolding (CPCCLSF4001) — this one's non-negotiable • Proven project management experience in scaffolding, construction or a closely related industry • A real understanding of site coordination, workforce planning and what it takes to resource a job properly • Experience managing budgets, margins and project performance — you can read a job's numbers, not just its program • Strong WHS knowledge and the willingness to enforce it • Current driver's licence and White CardHandy but not essential: CPR (HLTAID009) and First Aid (HLTAID011).
What's on offer• A permanent, full-time role with a business that's been in the Far North for twenty years • Own gear, own yard, own trucks — you're not chasing a hire company in Brisbane when a program moves • Real autonomy. You'll be trusted to run your projects, not asked to check in on every decision • Company Vehicle & Phone • Cairns-based. Live somewhere worth finishing work in.
