Certified Accountant

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Certified Accountant to join an established construction supplies business based in Beenleigh.

This is a key internal position for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting requirements of a business turning over approximately $20 million.

It isn't a role where you will be one accountant amongst a large finance team. We need someone experienced enough to operate as the key internal accountant, understand what is happening across the numbers and provide management with accurate and useful financial information.
  
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:

• Management of the day-to-day accounting function
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight
• Bookkeeping and general ledger responsibilities
• Bank and account reconciliations
• Month-end processes
• Financial and management reporting
• Cash flow monitoring
• BAS and statutory reporting requirements
• Working directly with management on financial information and business performance
• Ensuring accounting processes and records are accurate and up to date

  
About You
We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified / Certified Accountant
• Ideally has 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Has the experience and confidence to manage the accounting requirements of a circa $20m turnover business
• Is genuinely hands-on and happy to work across everything from AP/AR through to management reporting
• Can work independently without requiring a large finance team around them
• Has strong attention to detail and takes ownership of their work
• Communicates well with management and other areas of the business

Experience within construction, construction supplies, wholesale, trade supplies or a similar operational business would be highly regarded, but isn't essential.
More important is having someone who understands the accounting function from the ground up and is capable of taking responsibility for it.

• $120,000 – $150,000 + super depending on experience
