An established hotel located in a popular coastal town on South Australia’s Limestone Coast is seeking an experienced, hands-on Hotel Manager.

The venue includes a bar, restaurant and function spaces, gaming room, TAB/Keno facilities and a drive-through bottle shop. Trading is seasonal, with strong summer, holiday and event periods.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who can independently manage the venue, lead the team and work directly with supportive owners.

The role

The Hotel Manager will be responsible for the safe, compliant and profitable day-to-day operation of the venue.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the bar, restaurant, gaming, TAB/Keno and bottle-shop operations
• Leading, supporting and developing approximately 25–30 permanent and casual employees
• Preparing efficient rosters for quiet, shoulder and peak trading periods
• Controlling wages, stock, purchasing, wastage and operating expenses
• Managing cash, banking, tills, gaming reconciliations and end-of-day procedures
• Monitoring revenue, labour costs, gross profit and weekly performance
• Maintaining high standards of customer service, presentation and cleanliness
• Working closely with the kitchen team on service delivery and food costs
• Coordinating functions, group bookings, local events and seasonal trade
• Ensuring compliance with liquor, gaming, responsible gambling, food safety and workplace safety requirements
• Managing suppliers, contractors, maintenance and equipment servicing
• Recruiting, onboarding, training and performance-managing employees
• Handling customer concerns professionally
• Providing regular operational and financial reports to the owners

About you

We are looking for a manager who is visible in the venue, confident making decisions and willing to support the team during busy periods.

You will ideally have:

• Experience managing a hotel, pub, club or multi-outlet hospitality venue
• Knowledge of bar, restaurant, gaming and bottle-shop operations
• Experience managing employees, rosters and labour costs
• Strong stock-control, purchasing and cost-management skills
• Confidence with gaming, TAB/Keno, POS and cash-control procedures
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• A practical, calm and customer-focused management style
• Good administrative, reporting and computer skills
• Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Current RSA and any approvals or training required to supervise liquor and gaming operations in South Australia, or the ability to obtain them promptly
• Australian working rights

Regional or seasonal hospitality experience will be highly regarded.

Pay: $63,617.00 – $79,521.25 per year
