Roster: Monday to Friday
An exciting opportunity is available for an Environment Senior Advisor to join Fortescue and play a key role in supporting the delivery of environmental approvals across our operations and projects.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to provide environmental approvals advice, support environmental impact assessments and help deliver approvals aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
We are looking for someone who brings strong environmental knowledge, sound judgement and a collaborative approach. We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and career pathways, including those who may bring relevant transferable skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver environmental approvals aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Conduct environmental impact assessments across Fortescue sites and projects.Prepare and coordinate high-quality environmental approval applications and supporting documentation.Provide environmental approvals advice, including the development of approvals strategies and management of environmental studies.Coordinate and manage environmental approvals projects from planning through to delivery.Manage and supervise consultants and contractors, supporting safe and effective delivery of work.Communicate environmental approvals requirements, progress and outcomes clearly to internal stakeholders.Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business and contribute environmental expertise to project planning and decision-making.Undertake site visits as required.Contribute to continuous improvement in environmental processes, systems and ways of working.
Qualifications And Experience
A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.Relevant experience in an environmental role within the resources industry, government or a related sector. Approximately 5–8 years' experience is desirable; however, we encourage candidates with different career pathways and relevant transferable experience to apply.Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.Well-developed technical and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex environmental matters clearly.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams and disciplines.Competency using Microsoft Office applications.Experience using GIS software is desirable but not essential.Knowledge and understanding of the Pilbara environment is desirable but can also be developed in the role.
