Proserpine Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and values-driven General Manager to lead our organisation into its next chapter.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this is a senior leadership opportunity with responsibility for the overall operational performance and strategic direction of Proserpine Nursing Home.

You will lead a diverse team, oversee the delivery of safe and high-quality residential aged care, and ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, compliant and positioned for the future.

About the role:

As General Manager, you will provide leadership across the organisation, with responsibility for:

• Providing strategic and operational leadership across Proserpine Nursing Home.

• Working closely with the Board to implement strategic priorities and support effective governance and decision-making.

• Leading and developing an engaged, capable and high-performing workforce.

• Maintaining strong financial performance through effective business planning, budgeting and resource management.

• Ensuring compliance with aged care legislation, regulatory requirements and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

• Maintaining organisational readiness for accreditation, audits and regulatory reviews.

• Driving quality improvement, risk management and organisational performance.

• Building strong relationships with residents, families, employees, volunteers, regulators, health services and the broader community.

• Monitoring industry reforms and identifying opportunities for innovation, improvement and sustainable growth.

• Promoting a positive workplace health, safety and wellbeing culture.

About you:

You will be an experienced senior leader who can balance people, care, compliance and commercial performance. To be successful, you will bring:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Health Management, Nursing, Human Resources, Commerce or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated executive or senior management experience within health, aged care or community services.

• Experience in a senior operations or general management role.

• Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing organisational budgets and resources.

• An understanding of corporate governance and Board reporting.

• Knowledge of the Australian aged care legislative and regulatory environment.

• The ability to lead a complex, multidisciplinary workforce.

• Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and achieve strategic outcomes.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills.

• Eligibility to work in Australia and the ability to obtain and maintain the required screening and clearances.

• Experience within residential aged care, working with a not-for-profit or Board-governed organisation, and leading an organisation through accreditation, regulatory audits or significant organisational change will be highly regarded.
