Heavy Commercial Service Technician

We are seeking experienced Heavy Commercial Technicians to join our field service team, supporting customers across heavy transport, logistics, ports, industrial, and materials handling environments. This role will mainly specialise in the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and breakdown support of Terberg terminal tractors, with additional training provided across a wider range of materials handling products.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service position suited to technicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and working on robust commercial equipment. You will be responsible for servicing and repairing Terberg products in the field, carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, attending breakdowns, and keeping our customers’ equipment operating safely and efficiently.

·         Terberg terminal tractors and related heavy commercial equipment

·         Omega heavy materials handling equipment, including heavy forklifts, container handlers, dedicated container handlers, reach stackers, and tyre handlers

·         Other materials handling products across our broader equipment range, with training and support provided

·         Hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, driveline, braking, steering, and diagnostic systems

The Omega range includes heavy forklift trucks, empty and dedicated container handlers, reach stackers, tyre handlers, and specialised variants. ·         Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, repairs, and breakdown support in the field

·         Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults

·         Maintain Terberg terminal tractors and other heavy materials handling equipment to a high standard

·         Complete service reports, parts requests, job cards, and customer documentation accurately

·         Work safely and professionally at customer sites, workshops, yards, terminals, and industrial locations

·         Build strong relationships with customers through reliable service and technical support

·         Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle, Diesel, Plant, Agricultural, Forklift, or similar technician

·         Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles, mobile plant, forklifts, terminal tractors, or materials handling equipment

·         Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

·         Ability to work independently in a mobile field service environment

·         Current driver’s licence; HR or MR licence would be highly regarded

·         Commitment to safety, reliability, customer service, and quality workmanship
