Professional Organiser – Flexible Part-Time Hours

Serenity Organising is looking for a friendly, compassionate and reliable person to join our small team as a Professional Organiser.

The role will initially be approximately 6-8 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as you become confident working independently with clients.

This could suit someone looking for flexible weekday work who would also be interested in gradually increasing their hours over time.

You’ll work in clients’ homes across Canberra, helping people sort, declutter and organise their belongings and create calmer, more functional spaces.

Our clients may be feeling overwhelmed by clutter or going through challenging circumstances, so we’re looking for someone who is genuinely kind, patient, empathic and non-judgmental, with a good understanding of how to communicate sensitively with people.

About the role

You’ll be helping clients with tasks such as:

• Sorting and categorising belongings
• Decluttering and organising rooms and storage areas
• Helping clients make decisions about what to keep, donate or discard
• Creating practical organising systems
• Working alongside clients in a supportive and respectful way
• Light lifting, bending and moving items around the home

Initially, you’ll work alongside an experienced organiser while you learn our approach. As you build confidence and demonstrate that you can manage sessions independently, you’ll have opportunities to take on additional client hours.

About you

You don’t need previous professional organising experience, training will be provided.

You will need to be:

• A good communicator who can listen well and communicate clearly and sensitively
• Kind, empathic and understanding
• Reliable and punctual
• Friendly, compassionate and respectful
• Comfortable working with people who may feel overwhelmed or embarrassed about their homes
• Patient and non-judgmental
• Practical and happy to get stuck in
• Physically capable of lifting, bending and sorting
• Detail-oriented with a good eye for organisation
• Able to take initiative and, over time, work independently with clients

You will also need:

• A current driver’s licence
• Your own reliable vehicle
• A current Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

The role starts at approximately 6-8 hours per week during weekday hours, with the potential for more regular hours as you become able to work independently.
