Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Swetha International is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to work on the NSW South Coast.

This is a hands-on role maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant and equipment. We are particularly interested in candidates who also have experience operating front-end loaders and other heavy plant.

About the role

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of heavy plant and equipment used in quarry operations.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults

• Attending breakdowns and completing repairs

• Maintaining heavy diesel and mobile plant

• Conducting routine inspections and identifying maintenance requirements

• Keeping maintenance and service records up to date

• Operating a front-end loader or other plant when required and where competent

• Working safely within an operational quarry environment

What we're looking for

You will need:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle, Diesel or Plant Mechanic

• Experience maintaining heavy diesel and mobile plant

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience with hydraulic systems

• Current driver's licence

• Construction White Card

• Strong commitment to safety

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness and ability to undergo a Category 3 rail medical

• Willingness to undergo silica health monitoring/testing as required for the role

Highly desirable

• Previous quarry, mining, civil or heavy industry experience

• Front-end loader operating experience

• Loader competency/ticket or VOC

• Experience operating excavators or other mobile plant

• HR or higher driver's licence
