Multiple Roles - Landscapers/Leading Hands

Know your way around a shovel? Can lay a decent paver or mow a good lawn? Turn up when you say you will? And, importantly, can handle a bit of banter? We should probably talk.

Toby Grows Best Landscaping is a small, family-run Brisbane landscaping business (predominately operating out of the western suburbs) with a tight-knit and friendly crew and a busy pipeline of residential and commercial work ahead.

We do a good mix of landscape construction and garden maintenance, with plenty of variety coming up over the next few months. We’re growing the team and looking for:

🌿 Experienced Landscapers/garden maintenance crew
🌿 Leading Hand and/or Senior Landscaper

First and foremost, we want good people.

You’ll need to be reliable, work hard, take pride in what you do and be someone who gets along well with a small crew. A good sense of humour and the ability to have a bit of a laugh on site is pretty important too – we work hard, but there’s no reason we can’t enjoy ourselves while we’re doing it.

Ideally, you’ll have hands-on experience across some of the following:

• General garden maintenance

• Landscape construction

• Paving and concreting

• Garden construction and planting

• Turf preparation and installations

• Confident and safe use of landscaping tools, machinery and equipment

• Measuring and setting out

• Working independently and as part of a crew

For our Leading Hand, we’re looking for someone with a bit more experience under their belt who’s comfortable taking ownership of a job, keeping the crew moving, solving problems on site and making sure the finished job is something everyone can be proud of.

Landscaping or horticultural qualifications would be great, but they’re not essential. If you’ve got solid experience on the tools and know your stuff, we’d still love to hear from you.

A current driver’s licence is essential.

We’re a small family business, so you won’t be employee #247 or have to sit through a PowerPoint presentation to find out how to use a shovel.

Work shirts provided, you’ll just need to bring your own work boots and relevant PPE.

• We’re flexible and happy to bring the right person on casually to start, giving us both a chance to make sure it’s a good fit.

• For the right person, there’s absolutely the opportunity to move into a permanent role (AU citizens and PR only) and become a long-term part of Toby Grows Best.

• Only passing through Brisbane and need a few months work? We are also open to hear from any experienced Visa holders who can legally work required hours.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who knows landscaping, turns up, gets stuck in, does a great job and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
