Heavy Duty Mechanic - Road Transport - FIFO 8/6

We are seeking a Heavy-Duty Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on various heavy equipment, including trucks, mobile plant machinery, light vehicles, and generators as required. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring that our equipment operates at peak performance.

Machines:

• Variety of trucks, mainly Volvos and Scania.

• Variety of Mobile Plant 

• Generators

• Light Vehicles 

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks, trailers, mobile plant equipment, light vehicles and other equipment as required.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.

• Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment components.

• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess and repair equipment efficiently.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines.

• Collaborate with team members to complete complex repair projects.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Current & Valid Driver's License (HR Preferred)

• National Police Clearance (validity dependant on site)

• Working At Heights (validity dependant on site)

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate

• High Risk Forklift Licence (Desirable)

• Proven experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic working on trucks, trailers, mobile plant, or similar equipment.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
