The Role:

This is a Fixed Term Full Time position (until January 2027) at 80 hours per fortnight as a social worker in the Complex Care Hub. As a core member of the multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for providing psychosocial assessments and interventions for families and children requiring care via the Royal Children’s Hospital's Complex Care Hub. This includes providing services to families experiencing a new diagnosis, chronic illness, trauma, family violence, bereavement, social issues impacting on the child’s wellbeing and family functioning, parenting difficulties, psychological health issues, child behavioural issues and a broad range of social support issues. The role includes outreach and community support for families enrolled in the program and therefore a full Victorian drivers licence is required.

What you’ll achieve:

• Provide high quality, evidenced based clinical care to children and families presenting with a broad range of psychosocial needs
• Engage in quality improvement & evaluation projects to enhance existing Social Work & Allied Health services and materials provided to patients and families 
• Improve multidiciplinary pathways for dishrage and transition to appropriate services
• Create partnerships with children, adolescents and families

Classification for this position will range from Grade 1 Year 1 to Year 5 (SC12 - SC16) (FTE base salary $70,590 - $85,872.80per annum, plus superannuation)

Your skills and experience:

• Eligibility for membership of AASW
• Meet AASW CPE accreditation standards
• Clinical experience in paediatrics, child and family sector or closely related field of practice
• Full Victorian Drivers Licence

About the Social Work Department and Complex Care Hub

RCH Social Work is a growing team of 48 EFT and over 65 employees and is one of the largest Allied Health team at RCH. Social workers work in collaboration with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff across the hospital as well as provide community liaison to ensure delivery of great psychosocial care for patients and families. The Royal Children’s Complex Care Hub is an interdisciplinary service established to lead and coordinate the health care experiences for complex patients and their families. Patients with complex needs frequently require multiple teams, advanced technology and medical equipment to support their care needs, both within the hospital and at home.
