Evogene Pty Ltd The role of the Veterinary Services Technician is to provide administrative, logistical and operational support to all aspects of Evogene field activities. The company is in a rapid growth phase and this position requires someone with a fast-paced mindset with the willingness to upskill to become responsible for field reproductive work.

Administrative and Logistics Assist with the preparation of all field and laboratory documentation. Capture and document OPU field, laboratory and transfer data according to the Evogene systems, ensuring a high level of accuracy and integrity. Assist with all aspects of cleaning and equipment packing for field work.
Reporting of field work outcomes Field: Work alongside OPU Veterinarians and other Field Technicians on farm to acquire oocytes from the field and deliver to the main laboratory. Work alongside Field technicians to perform on farm search and classification of oocytes and complete accurate data recording during OPU Work alongside Field technicians to warm, load and transfer embryos for embryo transfer in the field Assist with driving to and from field locations Genetics: Assist in the receiving, processing, storage and data management of genetic material.
Ensure all genetics are handled with excellent care and within the Evogene SOPs to maintain integrity and viability. Ensure all operational canisters and shippers are maintained by regular (fortnightly) liquid nitrogen replenishment according to Evogene SOPs. General Evogene employee responsibilities: Perform any other duties within your capability as directed by your supervisor Participate in ongoing professional development and training
Work collaboratively across all teams to ensure duties are performed in a timely manner utilising efficient staff resources to maximise all operations. Maintain confidentiality regarding Evogene’s business operations and clients. Project a professional and positive image of the Evogene brand.
Compliance, continuous improvement and effective execution of our Quality Management Systems Qualification & experience Degree qualified in areas of veterinary technology, veterinary science, animal embryology, science or reproductive science or equivalent experience Relevant knowledge or background in client management software systems Relevant knowledge or background in data management and statistical analysis Relevant knowledge or background of Beef Cattle industry Relevant knowledge or background in assisted Reproduction Industry Relevant knowledge or background in embryology and IVP Understanding of IETS guidelines and standards Computer literate - excellent user of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook Ability work as part of a team Previous experience in data collection, documentation and analysis. Previous experience in laboratory workplaces Previous experience in embryo, semen & liquid nitrogen handling Manual driver’s license and experience towing trailers Selection and classification of oocytes after OPU Warming and assessment of embryos in the field and preparation for transfer Inventory management Research collaboration and/or execution About Company Evogene is and Veterinary owned advanced animal reproductive company based in Brisbane QLD servicing the agricultural industry Australia wide.
