Junior Solicitor (Debt Recovery & Local Government)

We are excited to announce we are currently seeking a motivated Junior Solicitor to join our Victorian team and support our expanding Local Government Rates Recovery practice.
About the Role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recently admitted lawyer or junior solicitor looking to develop their skills in debt recovery, civil litigation and local government matters. You will work closely with experienced practitioners, assisting with the management and progression of a portfolio of rates recovery matters while gaining hands-on exposure to court processes and enforcement proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the management of local government rates recovery matters.
Progress matters through pre-litigation, court proceedings, default judgment and enforcement stages.
Draft and prepare legal correspondence, notices, claims, affidavits, applications and court documents.
Conduct legal research relating to civil procedure, enforcement options and debt recovery matters.
Attend court appearances, directions hearings and procedural conferences under supervision.
Maintain accurate file management, reporting, diary and court deadline requirements.
Prepare client updates, reports and file notes.
Ensure compliance with professional obligations, client confidentiality requirements and internal quality standards.
About You

Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
The ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy and service standards.
Professional communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, courts, debtors and colleagues.
A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with solicitors, paralegals and support staff.
