Teacher - Primary - Music Specialist

This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2027

The School

Lake Gwelup Primary School (PS) is a thriving Level 5 school of approximately 560 students, situated in the heart of a highly engaged and connected community. The Role

Lake Gwelup PS is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative and creative Specialist Music Teacher to build upon a highly successful and much loved music program with a proud history within our school community.

Music is an important part of life at Lake Gwelup. Our students love to sing, perform and make music, and our program provides rich opportunities for students to develop their skills, confidence and creativity through classroom music, instrumental music, choirs, performances and community events. Music is highly visible across the school and plays an important role in bringing our students, families and community together.

The successful applicant would inherit a strong and established program and will be encouraged to build on these foundations, bringing their own expertise, creativity and ideas while respecting the traditions and opportunities that our students and community value. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can bring music to life and create the kind of experiences that students remember long after they leave primary school.

The successful applicant should display high quality teaching practice, strong curriculum knowledge and specialist music expertise, with the ability to engage and inspire students across a range of year levels. They should have high expectations for every student and be committed to providing purposeful, inclusive and engaging learning experiences that enable students with different interests, strengths and levels of musical experience to participate and succeed.
