About the Role

This hands‑on, outdoor role provides the opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to maintain bushland reserves, restore native vegetation, and support ecological conservation projects.

The role involves activities such as weed control, planting, brush‑cutting, seed collection, habitat restoration, and general maintenance across natural areas. Working alongside experienced team members, you’ll gain practical knowledge of local ecosystems, native species, safe work practices, and the tools and equipment used in bushland management.

This is a fantastic entry‑level opportunity for someone passionate about conservation and eager to build a career in natural area management. Comprehensive on‑the‑job training will be provided to support your development, including completion of a nationally recognised Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management.

About you

You enjoy working outdoors, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and have a genuine interest in the environment and local bushland. You’re reliable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn new skills, with a positive approach to teamwork and physical work.

You’ll bring:

• A passion for conservation, native flora and fauna, and protecting natural spaces
• A readiness for physically active work in varying weather conditions
• An eagerness to learn bushland maintenance techniques, equipment use, and safe work practices
• Good communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively

Previous experience isn’t required — just the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and an interest in developing a career within the natural environment field.

Salary and Benefits: Level 1 ($69,728) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
