About the role
This is a great first step out of practice for a recently qualified Chartered Accountant. As the Company Accountant, you will be responsible for producing month end management reports, managing cashflow, producing and managing compliance requirements, and ensuring the Finance department’s policies are continually updated and adhered to, while supporting the Country Lead and management team.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a hands-on, commercial role suited to someone currently operating at a senior level within a chartered accounting practice who is ready to make their first move into industry.
It's a great opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting foundations who enjoys taking ownership, working with people and being part of a collaborative business where Finance plays an active role in helping things run well.
What you'll be doing
· Prepare accurate and timely month-end management reports and other financial reporting for review by the CFO.
· Lead the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and strong team delivery.
· Manage the payroll function and ensure payroll processes are completed accurately and on time.
· Manage key financial compliance requirements, including BAS, corporate tax filings, audit requirements and annual returns.
· Maintain and review asset registers to support strong internal controls and reporting requirements.
· Work closely with the CFO, providing proactive updates on financial reporting, priorities, risks and required information.
· Continually review and improve Finance processes, systems and ways of working to create greater efficiency and value.
· Keep Finance policies current, clear, practical and accessible across the business.
· Drive continuous improvement in Finance reporting and the service provided to internal and external stakeholders.
About you
You’ll bring strong technical accounting capability, confidence working with detail, and a genuine interest in understanding how Finance supports the wider business.
· You’re currently working at a senior level within a chartered accounting practice, such as Senior Associate or Assistant Manager, and are ready to take your next step into an in-house commercial role.
· You’re CA qualified, or close to completion, with a strong technical accounting foundation.
· You have solid experience across accrual accounting, P&L preparation and journals.
· You’re confident with the accounting treatment of assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses.
· You have advanced Excel skills, including tools such as PivotTables and macros.
· You bring strong attention to detail, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience with MYOB EXO would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.
· You’re curious to understand the end-to-end accounting process and how Finance can add value across the broader business.
Ready to make an impact?
If you're a strong accountant who enjoys working with people, leading a small team and making Finance a trusted and useful partner to the business, we'd love to hear from you.
