About You:

We need a skilled Mechanical Draftsperson for a 12-month contract role. You will create accurate installation and fabrication documentation for belt conveyor equipment components and sub-systems. 

What You Bring

• Experience: Strong background as a Draftsperson or Design Drafter in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or mechanical design.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with conveyor systems, material handling, or process equipment.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD platforms like SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD.
• Qualifications: Trade qualification, Certificate IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting (Mechanical).
• Technical Output: Proven ability to produce complete manufacturing packs, including BOMs and detailed assemblies.

About the Role:

You will work closely with production and maintenance teams to support manufacturing, assembly, and site work.
Key Responsibilities

• Documentation: Create timely and accurate installation and fabrication documents that match customer needs and business goals.
• CAD Design: Use 3D CAD software like SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD to build 3D models, general arrangements, manufacturing and assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Practical Design: Design practical and manufacturable parts that fit fabrication limits.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production teams and maintenance crews.
• Technical Support: Help guide manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Problem Solving: Find and resolve design and manufacturing errors.
• Project Support: Help with equipment commissioning, installation, and general engineering tasks.
• Quality & Improvement: Join quality assurance efforts and help implement new technology and methods to make the drafting area more cost-effective and efficient.
