Able Life Hub is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in Devon Meadows, Victoria. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be at the heart of our mission to enable individuals to participate meaningfully in daily activities and achieve their personal goals.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where your expertise will directly impact client outcomes and contribute to the broader objectives of our organisation.
What you'll be doing
Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify client needs, functional limitations and goals
Developing individualised treatment plans based on client assessment findings and collaborating with clients to establish meaningful, achievable objectives
Delivering therapeutic interventions utilising evidence-based practices to improve functional capacity, independence and participation in daily living activities
Providing advice and recommendations for environmental modifications, adaptive equipment and assistive technology to enhance client independence and safety
Collaborating with clients, families and caregivers to ensure therapeutic goals align with personal values and lifestyle preferences
Liaising and communicating effectively with multidisciplinary team members, including physiotherapists, nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals
Maintaining detailed and accurate client records, documenting assessments, interventions, progress and outcomes in compliance with professional and legal standards
Contributing to the continuous improvement of occupational therapy services through reflection on practice and participation in team discussions and professional development activities
Supporting clients in goal achievement through skilled coaching, education and enablement strategies
What we're looking for
A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution
Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) and compliance with the National Occupational Therapy Practice Standards
Demonstrated understanding of occupational therapy principles and ability to apply evidence-based practice in clinical settings
Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention skills with the ability to adapt approaches to meet diverse client needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams
Proficiency in written documentation, including assessment reports, treatment plans and clinical notes
Ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with evidence-based practices in occupational therapy
Empathy, patience and a genuine commitment to client-centred care
Experience in rehabilitation, disability services or community health settings is highly valued
Experience with specialised client populations such as acquired brain injury, stroke or orthopaedic rehabilitation would be advantageous
