Junior Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable Position

At Thomas Hotels, we're all about creating great experiences across our 22 iconic pubs throughout Sydney. Our Head Office is located opposite Central Station in Surry Hills, and we're looking for a Junior Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Officer to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in bookkeeping and accounts within a fast-paced hospitality group.

Working as part of our finance team, you'll provide support across our accounts function, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable and day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.

• Accounts Payable: Processing, coding and entering supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.

• Supplier Accounts: Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations and following up outstanding invoices or queries.

• Accounts Receivable: Assisting with basic invoicing and accounts receivable tasks.

• Reconciliations: Assisting with monthly banking and basic account reconciliations.

• Data Entry: Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are entered correctly.

• General Bookkeeping: Providing support to the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks.

• Ad Hoc Support: Assisting with general administration and finance tasks as required.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and keen to learn. Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or an accounts role is preferred, however, not essential. We're open to someone who is early in their career and has the right attitude.

• Attention to Detail: You take pride in getting things right and can spot errors.

• Accounting Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or a similar role is preferred.

• Xero: Experience with Xero is highly regarded.

• Excel: Basic to intermediate Excel skills.

• Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Communication: Confident communicating with suppliers, venues and the wider finance team.

• Team Player: You're happy to work as part of a team but can also take responsibility for your own work.

• Willingness to Learn: A genuine interest in developing your bookkeeping and accounting skills.

This is an office-based position in Surry Hills, Sydney. Applicants must be able to work onsite from our office. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
