We're seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based in Macquarie Park. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will assist with a broad range of accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, support statutory reporting requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities Include

Assisting with month-end and year-end close activitiesPreparing and posting journal entries, accruals and prepaymentsPerforming balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepanciesSupporting external audit requirements and responding to audit queriesAssisting with BAS, FBT and other statutory reporting obligationsMaintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controlsLiaising with internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queriesIdentifying opportunities to improve and streamline finance processesSupporting system upgrades, process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives

To Be Successful In This Role You'll Need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related discipline2 to 3 years' experience in a similar accounting roleSound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirementsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business
