If you're a Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Fitter who knows their way around heavy mining equipment and takes pride in getting machines back to work, we want to hear from you.

Komatsu is looking for an experienced tradesperson to join our site-based team at Batchfire, Callide Mine. You'll work alongside experienced Komatsu technicians maintaining, diagnosing and repairing our equipment while providing hands-on support directly to the customer.

This isn't a role where you'll be watching from the sidelines. You'll be on the tools, solving problems, keeping equipment moving and representing one of the world's leading heavy equipment brands on site.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and equipment reliability.

• Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu mining equipment.
• Troubleshooting faults and recording diagnostic results accurately.
• Responding to equipment issues and working with the site team to minimise downtime.
• Actioning oil sample results and equipment notifications.
• Working closely with maintenance planners, supervisors, technical support and customer crews.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the way we maintain and support our machines.

What we are looking for

You're a hands-on tradie who enjoys solving problems, working on mining equipment and being part of a crew that gets the job done safely.

You'll bring:

• A Mechanical Trade Qualification - Plant Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Diesel Fitter.
• A genuine commitment to safety.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a site-based team.
• A current Queensland Driver's Licence.
• The ability to obtain a Queensland Coal Board Medical and S11.

Experience with Komatsu equipment, particularly Komatsu Mining excavators, 930E-4 haul trucks, GD955-7R graders, will put you ahead of the pack. High Risk Work licenses, air-conditioning, HR license, forklift or crane tickets are also advantageous.
