Your opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Learn to Swim Coordinator (Operations Assistant) to join our Aquatic Centre team and play a key role in shaping the next generation of confident and capable swimmers.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives on developing people, improving programs and delivering outstanding customer experiences. Working closely with the Aquatic Centre Operations manager, you will help drive the quality, growth and day-to-day success of our Learn to Swim program while mentoring and supporting a team of instructors.
Key Responsibilities
As Learn to Swim Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership across the Learn to Swim program, ensuring high-quality lesson delivery, instructor capability development and exceptional service for students, families and community participants. You will play an important role in program administration, quality assurance, school swimming initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating daily Learn to Swim operations and instructor deployment.
Supporting instructor induction, mentoring, training and professional development.
Monitoring lesson quality and program consistency.
Conducting swimmer assessments and supporting progression pathways.
Managing enrolments, scheduling and class capacity planning.
Supporting curriculum swimming programs, aquatic events and swimming carnivals.
Assisting with risk management, compliance and aquatic safety practices.
Providing operational support to the Aquatic Centre Operations Manager and acting as delegate when required.
Supporting water quality monitoring, facility readiness and customer service excellence.
About You
You are an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about water safety, coaching and developing others. You bring a proactive approach, strong organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, instructors and colleagues.
You will ideally possess:
Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Swim Australia Teacher or equivalent qualification.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Current Pool Lifeguard qualification.
Experience delivering Learn to Swim programs and coordinating aquatic operations.
Experience mentoring, coaching or leading instructors.
Stong administration, communication and customer service skills.
A commitment to child safety, workplace health and safety and continuous improvement.
