Maintenance Mechanical Fitter

About the Role

We are a leading manufacturing facility, that partners with well-known brands to deliver high quality products in a fast paced environment. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to support the reliability and performance of our production lines. This hands-on role operates within a dynamic manufacturing setting, offering the opportunity to work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams while contributing to continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

•  Support the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and production lines

• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment

• Repair and replace machine components including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and packaging equipment

• Diagnose mechanical faults and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime

• Complete maintenance tasks and record work in the CMMS system

• Complete line changeovers

• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability

• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, GMP, and HACCP standards

• Assist with ordering parts and maintaining critical spares

• Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams

• Provide after-hours/on-call support as required

About You

•  Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or other similar trade

• Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment

• Experience in the beverage industry is highly regarded

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and within a team

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

• Forklift licence and EWP (highly advantageous) or willingness to obtain

• Stainless Steel Tig Welding (highly desirable)

Additional Information

• This role is 5 days per week onsite in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs

• Due to limited public transport access, an own vehicle is preferred
