Porter, Allied Health Assistant

• Permanent Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight
• Located at Peninsula University Hospital, Frankston 
• Classification: Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 (IN29*) and Patient Services Assistant Level 2 (PS25*) plus super

The Team & Role 

The Porter/Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 role is predominantly responsible for patient and equipment transportation around the hospital to support allied health therapies, equipment monitoring and ordering, and where appropriate support to assist in the delivery of therapy.  This role requires working with a person-centred approach to provide efficient and safe patient are within a defined scope of practice. There will be a range of other duties, including but not limited to, cleaning, organising and maintenance of equipment, ordering supplies, data entry and collection, general cleaning of therapy spaces.

Skills & Experience Required 

• Certificate III in Patient Services Assistance OR Certificate III in Health Services Assistance OR Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
• Experience working in a health care setting
• Demonstrated experience working as an effective member of a team
• Experience transferring patients who require assistance from bed/chair to and from wheelchair under direction of nurse or allied health clinician
• Ability to provide daily and special cleaning services (infectious patients) consistent with relevant standards, including cleaning of allied health areas and equipment
