The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the state-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

The Opportunity The Maintenance Interface Officer leads and supports the procurement and contract management of the statewide Annual Pavement Marking Program. Reporting to the Maintenance Interface Lead, the role focuses on contract preparation, tendering, evaluation, variations, claims and payments. It manages contractual meetings and works with Procurement Services to maintain an effective Preferred Supplier Arrangement and consistent program delivery across stakeholders.

About you You bring strong analytical and research capability to assess complex issues, manage risk and deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations. You will build collaborative relationships, support change and foster open communication. In the role, you will communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, negotiating and resolving issues professionally. Prior experience in road maintenance or construction delivery, with sound knowledge of project management, contract administration, and commercial frameworks within complex environments will be highly regarded.

This role is a dual call and is being advertised at the PO3, TGO5, and ASO6 classification levels, in which the successful applicant will be appointed at the classification level commensurate with their skills and experience.

Educational Qualifications /Licences

• PO3: A degree level qualification in Engineering (Civil) or other relevant engineering discipline.
• TGO5: A relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma or recognised qualification approved as being appropriate to the Construction/Engineering Career group, including engineering design/ drafting, estimating/specifications, construction and support, road construction and/or maintenance, traffic management and road safety auditing.
• A current driver's Licence is essential.

Special Conditions

• A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport and is required to be renewed every three years.
• Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

RemunerationPO3 - $111,870 to $119,994 pa + superannuation.TGO5 - $105,747 to $111,854 pa + superannuation.ASO6 - $105,747 to $111,854 pa + superannuation.
