Join the City of Wanneroo’s Office of the CEO and play a key role in supporting effective, transparent and compliant contract management across the organisation.
As Contract Management Officer, you will provide practical advice, investigate contractual matters and help ensure the City’s procurement and contract management practices are consistent with legislation, policy and best practice.
You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders, build capability across the organisation and contribute to improvements that make our processes smarter and more effective.
What you’ll be doing
• Provide advice and guidance on contract management matters, including contractual issues and appropriate courses of action.
• Support tendering and contract management activities in accordance with legislation, policies, processes and procedures.
• Work closely with internal customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
• Develop and deliver training to build employees’ knowledge and capability in contract management systems, processes and procedures.
• Research, analyse and resolve contract-related issues, applying sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain accurate contract management registers, databases and systems in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
• Support the General Counsel and Legal Counsel in delivering effective contract management and legal services across the City.
About you
You’ll be a confident and organised contract management professional who can navigate competing priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships and provide clear, practical advice.
You will bring:
• A qualification in contract management, procurement or a relevant discipline.
• Relevant experience in a contract management or similar role.
• Knowledge of procurement and contract management principles and practices.
• Strong communication, customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
• Sound research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information and provide practical advice.
• Intermediate-level computer and information systems skills.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a willingness to adapt in a changing environment.
