What you will love about Working here
Core and advanced methods of cooking: Deepen your practical command of essential cookery methods - blanching and frying, braising slow cooked meats, smoking signature dishes, roasting and balancing sauces.
Ingredient Identification and flavour profiling: Build confidence in recognising, prepping, and combining diverse produce, native ingredients, Himalayan spices, Mexican chillies and quality local protiens.
Fresh Onsite Garden-to-Plate cooking: Work directly with our onsite garden - harvesting fresh herbs and seasonal fruits & Veg for seasonal menu changes and specials.
Supportive mentorship: Work alongside qualified chefs dedicated to guiding your certificate III milestones, kitchen workflow, and commercial speed to build and enhance your techniques.
A thriving community vibe: Based inside the lively Petersham Bowling Club, you will enjoy a great team culture, friendly regualrs, and a fun, fast-paced service environment.
What we are looing for:
A 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice currently enrolled in a certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Strong curiosity and eager willingness to learn foundational techniques and new flavour combinations.
A positive, can-do attitude with pride in kitchen cleanliness, food safety and mis en place.
Reliability, puncuality, and good communication during busy service periods.
