Construction Labourer/Maintenance Person Role - Residential construction

About the role

Hughes Elite Builders is seeking a Construction Labourer to join our growing team in Warwick, QLD. This is a full-time position working on residential construction projects. In this role, you will be a key member of our construction team, providing essential support to tradespeople and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You will be based on-site in Warwick, working hands-on across various residential building sites. Four the right candidate there’s opportunities of up skilling to other trade job positions.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining work areas, including site setup, cleanup, and waste management

• Assisting skilled tradespeople with installation of building materials, fixtures and fittings

• Loading, unloading and transporting materials, tools and equipment around construction sites

• Carrying out maintenance duties to acceptable quality requirements

• Installing and maintaining temporary safety measures, including fencing, signage etc.

• Carrying out basic demolition and site preparation work

• Operating hand tools and power tools under supervision

• Following all health and safety regulations and protocols on site

• Supporting site supervisors and tradespeople to ensure efficient project workflow

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a construction labourer or in a similar hands-on trade role

• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks regularly

• A current White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one

• Basic understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites

• Reliability and a strong work ethic with commitment to quality outcomes

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Clear communication skills and attention to detail

• A valid driver's licence is advantageous

• Willingness to learn new skills and develop your construction career
