St John of God Berwick Hospital has a total of 202 beds, eight operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical, offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds.
Your Position
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Practice Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the effective management of a busy Obstetric and Gynaecology practice, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for the consultant and patients.
Working 76 hours per fortnight between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, manage the team (including rostering) and consultant requirements, ensure the delivery of efficient administrative and operational support and build strong stakeholder relationships. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong organisational and communication skills to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment.
The Position
You will have experience in surgical practice management or a senior surgical practice administration role, with a strong understanding of medical terminology, administrative processes and the ability to autonomously coordinate multiple priorities in a busy healthcare environment. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proven ability to provide high-level administrative support and build effective relationships with consultants and key stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude to plan ahead and manage day-to-day operations alike, with the ability to follow consultant instructions and respond professionally to changing priorities. Sound computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using Gentu or a similar practice management system.
