About the role
At Lutheran Education Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania (LEVNT) we are passionate about providing quality education and care within a Christian environment to children attending our Services throughout our region.
Good Shepherd Early Childhood Services is a community-based Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten located in Hamilton, Victoria. The service provides care to over 100 children per day through our long day care and funded kindergarten programs. Our sessional kindergarten operates from two rooms, where educators work together to deliver high-quality programs for up to 50 children per day.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in a full-time, 18-month fixed-term parental leave position. All positions are employed under the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Award (VECTEA) and offer the added benefit of school holiday breaks.
The Role
This role requires the successful applicant to work collaboratively with a team of Early Childhood Teachers and Educators to deliver funded kindergarten programs which adhere to the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and Kindergarten Funding Guide requirements. Our teachers will use the planning cycle to deliver high quality, innovative programs that cater to the developmental needs and interests of the children in their care. The successful applicant will build and maintain positive relationships with children, their families and colleagues to ensure a respectful, safe environment for all people who use and work at our service.
Selection Criteria
Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualifications (see page 46 of the Kindergarten Funding Guide for more information)
Current VIT Registration.
Current First Aid Qualifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
Current National Child Safety and Child Protection Training, or willingness to complete.
Excellent knowledge of current Child Care Legislation and the National Quality Laws and Regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, children and families.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with early childhood sector operations and programs including children’s developmental stages and their emotional, physical and other needs.
Demonstrated skills to maintain a positive work culture and participate within successful teams.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Sound computer skills.
Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lutheran Church.
