About the role
Founded in 1912, King’s College is a values-based residential academic community within the University of Queensland supporting 342 resident university students and some 100 Associate Members. The College’s core commitments include academic excellence, respect and dignity for all, and service to others.
The College provides strong academic, careers, and wellbeing support to students, along with opportunities to engage in a range of extra-curricular activities, with rich opportunities for leadership and service, and for the development of life-long friendships. The College is committed to being a safe, inclusive, and respectful community for all students.
Throughout the academic year, King’s runs a comprehensive tutorial program involving more than 100 tutorials per week delivered by over 60 tutors in a range of academic disciplines. A range of industry-themed career events and a professional mentoring program are also on offer to help students improve their skills and prepare for the workforce.
Reporting to the Head of College (Dr Don Markwell AM), the Director of Academic & Career Development is responsible for overall strategic leadership and management of the College's Academic and Career Development portfolio, focused on ensuring that King’s fulfils its commitment to academic excellence, and provides high-quality academic and career development support to its students.
