About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive, all-rounder Payroll & P&C Officer to join our People & Culture team as we build the department from the ground up. This is a genuinely varied role, one day you might be coordinating end-to-end P&C for a site-based crew, the next you’re supporting payroll processing, running onboarding, or helping shape a new P&C policy.

You’ll own end-to-end payroll processing, working with a high degree of autonomy and reporting to the P&C Manager for guidance, review and support. This role suits someone who takes initiative, is comfortable owning outcomes, and doesn’t need close supervision to get things done in a small, fast-growing team.

We’re after someone available to start immediately – this is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Brisbane Office.

What You’ll Be Doing

Payroll

• Owning end-to-end payroll processing, with guidance and support from the P&C Manager
• Ensuring accurate award interpretation, leave accrual, superannuation calculation and STP compliance
• Reviewing and improving payroll processes and Employment Hero configuration to identify and remediate discrepancies
• Ensuring employee lifecycle changes (commencements, changes, terminations) are accurately and promptly reflected in payroll and HRIS systems
• Managing payroll audits, reporting and reconciliation activities
• Administering and maintaining Employment Hero HR/payroll records, and producing standard reports (turnover, time-to-hire, training completion)

P&C Generalist Support

• Coordinating end-to-end recruitment for operational and support office roles, job ads, screening, interviews and offers
• Designing and running onboarding and offboarding journeys, including pre-start compliance and induction
• Leading the scheduling and tracking of WHS return-to-work training across all states
• Providing administrative and coordination support to employee relations matters, grievances and investigations
• Supporting the review and drafting of core HR policies, position descriptions and employment contracts

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate IV in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Experience in an HR administration, HR coordination or HR generalist support role
• Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and the National Employment Standards
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a small, fast-paced team
• Experience with Employment Hero, HR background, and construction industry experience are highly desirable
• Experience coordinating end-to-end recruitment and/or supporting payroll processing is a strong advantage.
