Experience Tasmania – Gray Line is one of Tasmania’s leading day and multi-day tour operators. We’re currently seeking permanent and casual Driver Guides to join our team in Hobart. This role includes:

• Regular day tours from Hobart - Driver guide roles

• Statewide extended overnight tours - Driver guide roles

• Day and night tour transfer services

• Transfer‑only roles available for those seeking a flexible second job (no commentary required)

About the Role

We’re hiring Coach Tour Drivers who can deliver engaging commentary and guide guests through Tasmania’s stunning landscapes and rich history.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have or be willing to obtain:

• ✅ MR–HR driver’s licence (mandatory)

• ✅ Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) licence

• ✅ Working with Children and Vulnerable People permit (state requirement)

• ✅ Current First Aid certificate

• ✅ Tour guiding experience or willingness to be trained (for driver guide roles only)

• ✅ Outgoing, friendly personality

• ✅ Ability to deliver enjoyable and informative commentary (for driver guide roles only)

• ✅ Reliability and exceptional personal presentation

• ✅ Flexibility to work during our peak season (September–April) available for weekends

Key Responsibilities

As a Driver Guide, you’ll:

• Lead guests on guided walks and visit to key attractions

• Deliver engaging, accurate, and up-to-date commentary

• Assist guests with boarding and alighting vehicles

• Operate a range of vehicles—from 4-seat SUVs to 57-seat coaches and our iconic 78-seat open-top buses

• Provide both driving and guiding services to ensure a memorable guest experience

• Conduct private corporate charters

• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and personal presentation

Who We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in Tasmania’s history and culture

• Experience in tourism, hospitality, or customer service

• A strong connection to southern Tasmania or the ability to commute to Hobart daily.

• A team-player mindset – ready to collaborate and contribute to a supportive, high-performing crew.
