THE POSITION
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly HVP legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will partner with leaders and teams across HVP to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice that supports our operations and strategic direction.

This is a broad and varied in-house role suited to someone who enjoys building trusted relationships, working autonomously and helping the business navigate complex issues with clear, workable solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and other commercial arrangements.
• Advising on property and planning matters, including contracts of sale, leases and relevant planning scheme requirements.
• Providing advice on legislative compliance, new business initiatives, customer relationships and contractor matters.
• Supporting the governance and ongoing management of HVP's legal compliance program.
• Driving improvements to legal processes through templates, internal training and other practical resources.
• Developing policies and governance documents as required.
• Supporting the General Counsel across a range of legal matters and projects.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
To thrive in this role, you will:

• have a Bachelor of laws degree and admission to legal practice in Australia, with an unrestricted practising certificate;
• have at least four years of relevant post admission experience (experience in a corporate setting would be valued) ;
• have exposure to commercial law and property or planning law; 
• be personable, well grounded, confident and able to work on matters with minimal supervision in a small team;
• offer excellent written and verbal communication; with the confidence to provide clear and practical advice;
• be able to work autonomously, focus on attention to detail and provide outstanding internal service; and 
• be flexible and skilled in undertaking multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
