IBM Maximo Technical Lead
- $850 - $900 per day plus super

We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Technical Lead to join a major asset-intensive organisation delivering several critical enterprise technology programs.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position suited to a Maximo specialist who can lead developers while remaining actively involved in development, code reviews, defect resolution and technical delivery.
The opportunity
You will lead the end-to-end technical delivery of Maximo initiatives, working across a growing team of developers and collaborating daily with architects, project managers, technical specialists and internal business owners.
The initial engagement is for six months, with a strong possibility of extension due to the volume of work in the pipeline.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of Maximo development and upgrade activities
- Provide hands-on Maximo development, configuration and defect resolution
- Review code and maintain high standards of technical quality
- Guide and support a team of Maximo developers through the full software development lifecycle
- Contribute to the upgrade from Maximo 7.6 to Maximo Application Suite 9
- Support the transition to an OpenShift containerised environment
- Deliver Maximo changes supporting field mobility and spatial capability programs
- Work closely with architects, project managers and business stakeholders
- Identify technical risks and take ownership of delivery outcomes
- Support a team expected to scale from approximately five to ten resources during the upgrade
About you
- Approximately 8 - 10+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience
- Deep technical and development expertise within Maximo
- Strong experience with Maximo Manage 7.6
- Demonstrated experience leading Maximo developers while remaining hands-on
- Experience across development, code reviews, defect resolution and technical delivery
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience delivering complex integrations within an enterprise environment
- Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide clear, outcome-focused examples of previous technical delivery
Highly desirable
- Maximo Application Suite 9 experience
- Maximo upgrade or migration experience
- OpenShift, containerisation or cloud platform experience
- Experience with field mobility or spatial capability integrations
- Previous IBM experience
- Experience within utilities or another asset-intensive environment
Working arrangements
The role offers an approximate 50/50 hybrid arrangement, with around three days onsite and two days working from home. Candidates must be able to work across Sydney Olympic Park and Parramatta as required.
Unrestricted Australian working rights are required.
