Commercial Diver – Sydney, Australia
Two full-time positions are available. Each position is 38 hours per week.
$80,000–$120,000 per year plus superannuation
Orca Dive & Salvage Pty Ltd is seeking two experienced Commercial Divers to join our Sydney-based team.
Our team delivers specialist in-water services to commercial vessels across Australia and the wider Oceania region. The two positions are Sydney based, with travel to project locations across Australia and Oceania. The roles involve a range of commercial diving projects, including vessel inspections, ship husbandry, underwater repairs, maintenance and installation work.
Key responsibilities:
• Perform underwater inspections, repairs, maintenance and installation work
• Complete commercial diving tasks in accordance with approved dive plans and safety procedures
• Inspect and maintain personal diving equipment
• Communicate effectively with dive supervisors, surface teams, clients and vessel crews
• Complete required daily logs and project documentation
• Represent Orca Dive & Salvage professionally on every project
• Travel to project locations and work flexible hours when required
Essential requirements:
• A current commercial diving qualification recognised for work in Australia
• Relevant commercial diving experience
• Ability to satisfy occupational diving medical requirements
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work effectively within a dive team
• Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours when projects require it
Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
• Ship husbandry and vessel inspections
• Underwater hull repairs and welding
• Thruster removal and installation
• Propeller polishing and running-gear work
• Working within operational ports and alongside vessel crews
