Medical Secretary–(12m Maternity Leave Contract with Extension)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
Location: North Gosford, NSW
Hourly Rate: $30+ per hour (depending on experience)

Coastal Orthopaedics North Gosford is a well-established and fast-paced specialist practice seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and patient-focused Medical Secretary to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. There may be the possibility of extending the position beyond the initial contract period.

This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys helping patients navigate their care.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our practice, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy specialist clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a high volume of incoming calls

• Booking appointments and coordinating patient schedules

• Triaging referrals and ensuring timely follow-up

• Handling patient enquiries with professionalism, clarity, and empathy

• Explaining surgery quotes and assisting with related questions

• Maintaining accurate patient records and completing administrative tasks

• Daily use of Blue Chip and Medical Director software

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to five days per week

• Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Professional with an excellent telephone manner

• Confident multitasking and managing competing priorities

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Experienced in medical administration (preferred but not essential)

• Familiar with Blue Chip and Medical Director software (highly regarded)
