Participant Support Practitioner - NDIS Early Childhood Approach

Join Meli's Early Childhood Approach team and play a vital role in supporting families of children with disability to navigate the NDIS and access the supports they need to thrive.

As a Participant Support Practitioner, you will partner closely with families to build their confidence and capability, help them understand and utilise their child's NDIS plan, and connect them with appropriate services and community supports. Using a family-centred, strengths-based approach, you will empower families to achieve meaningful outcomes for their child while promoting participation, inclusion and wellbeing in everyday life.

As a Participant Support Practitioner, you will:

• Support families to understand their child's disability needs and navigate the NDIS pathway, including access, planning, implementation, reviews and funding requests.
• Provide clear information, guidance and practical support to help families make informed decisions and effectively utilise their child's NDIS plan.
• Connect families with appropriate allied health, mainstream, community and disability supports that enhance participation and inclusion in everyday life.
• Build trusting relationships with families and key stakeholders to strengthen caregiver confidence, address barriers to accessing supports and achieve positive outcomes for children and their families.

• Full-time, fixed term position until 30 July 2027
• 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
• $105,834 p/a + Super & Salary Packaging

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

• Minimum Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education, Allied Health/Disability discipline or equivalent and experience working with children under 9 and their families.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of the developmental, social and support needs of children with disability and their families, and the ability to respond with informed, family‑centred and culturally responsive practices.
• Demonstrated high-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families in diverse settings, complemented by strong time‑management and organisational abilities that support independent, self‑directed work.
• Current Victoria Driver’s Licence
