About us
Kardinia International College is a leading K-12 co-educational, non-denominational, independent school located in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. With a student enrolment of approximately 2000, the College employs 330 permanent staff in addition to a large casual workforce.
We value respect, friendship, and wisdom, and are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for staff, students and families. We encourage our people to engage in innovative practices and contribute to the College's mission of making a positive impact on the world.
The Chiang Mai Program is a unique experience designed as an inclusive ‘self-discovery journey’ endeavouring to lead students to a deep self-understanding, self-awareness and true independence. It also serves to provide students with a deep and lasting sense of international mindedness, where an understanding, acceptance and respect for different cultures, religions and ways of life become a hallmark of their character. The Sum Pun Campus is a resort style campus, located approximately 16 km north-east of Chiang Mai City, Thailand. Our six-acre campus provides a wonderful home-base for students.
About the role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with students during six-week residential international learning experiences, helping develop independence, resilience, intercultural understanding, leadership skills and personal growth.
Working under the direction of the Head of Chiang Mai Program, as part of a dedicated teaching and experienced local Thai support team, the Chiang Mai Program Teacher will:
Provide pastoral care, supervision, wellbeing support and guidance to students.
Contribute and support learning, student development, community experiences and daily program operations.
Maintain strong connections between the Chiang Mai Program and Kardinia’s Bell Post Hill campus.
Support student preparation prior to departure and reflection and reintegration following their return to school.
The program is delivered by a team of three VIT-registered teachers who work collaboratively and rotate between the Bell Post Hill and Chiang Mai campuses throughout the year. At any given time, two teachers are based in Chiang Mai supporting students, while one teacher is based at the Bell Post Hill campus preparing the next student cohort, supporting returning students and providing relief teaching in the Senior School.
This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility, teamwork, initiative and a strong commitment to student wellbeing within a residential international learning environment.
Teachers will build meaningful relationships with students across the entire journey—from preparation and departure, through their Chiang Mai experience, to their return and reintegration into school life.
The position descriptions are available on the College website Employment - Kardinia International College.
VIT registration/provisional registration is essential and applicants must be willing to support and adhere to the College's Child Safe Policy and practices.
Be part of our community
Whether you are working from the Chiang Mai or Bell Post Hill campus, you will join a collaborative and forward-thinking learning community that values professional growth, innovation, and strong relationships with students. Teachers are supported to bring creativity and expertise to their classrooms while contributing to a culture of academic excellence and wellbeing. With engaged students, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to be involved in co-curricular and international-minded programs, Kardinia offers a rewarding environment in which to grow your career and make a meaningful impact.
