Sales & Production Manager

Australian Surface Technologies is the industry leader in hard chrome surface technologies, and we're looking for an experienced Sales & Production Manager to drive our sales growth while leading the day-to-day operations of our Dandenong South workshop.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance commercial acumen with practical, on-the-floor operational expertise. You'll build strong relationships with customers and your team, identify new business opportunities, and ensure every job is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Sales & Customer Management: driving sales growth, preparing quotations and job assessments, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Production Management: leading daily workshop, production, stores and dispatch operations, and planning labour and schedules to meet customer deadlines.
• Leadership & Team Management: mentoring and supporting operational employees, and promoting a culture of accountability, safety and quality.
• Safety, Quality & Compliance: maintaining a strong safety culture and overseeing quality assurance across all operational activities.
• Financial & Operational Performance: supporting budgeting, cost control and operational reporting to senior management.

• Previous experience in a Sales & Production Management or similar leadership role within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or heavy workshop environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing operational teams and coordinating workflow, labour allocation and customer-driven production schedules.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety obligations.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Experience within hard chrome plating, machining, hydraulics, industrial refurbishment or surface engineering will be highly regarded.
• Comfortable preparing quotations, job assessments and technical customer support.
• A calm, decisive and hands-on approach, with the ability to earn the trust and respect of workshop personnel.
