About the role

As a Senior Transactional Banking Services (TBS) Analyst, you will support the Departments day-to-day finance, accounting and cashflow operations, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial activities, while delivering a positive customer experience.

Your responsibilities include:

• Building strong partnerships and providing advice to stakeholders relating to budgets, forecasts, projections and expenditure management.
• Supporting accounting and cashflow activities, including invoices, payments and financial transactions
• Monitoring team daily workload and operational activities
• Working closely with Treasury and finance teams to report on financial management activities
• Preparing correspondence, briefings and reports for management and governance forums
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, efficiency and customer experience.

This role sits with the EDConnect, Finance Function, responsible for delivering effective financial operational practices and customer-focused services.

About you

As the Senior TBS Analyst, you have solid financial and accounting experience with a customer-centred approach to your service delivery. You bring:

• Analytical skills and an attention to detail to interpret data and ensure accuracy of financial activities
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, to provide clear, accurate and timely advice
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Knowledge and experience using tools such as Excel, SAP and Power BI
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

• Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Administration, Finance and Accounting or a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Contact Centre environment.
• Proven experience across a range of accounting and finance functions, with a sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards, financial data processing and reporting
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
