About GLaWAC:
Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) represents the Traditional Owners of Gippsland, the Gunaikurnai people. The role of GLaWAC is to meet the aspirations of the Whole of Country Plan and to support members through Native Title related matters.

About the Position
The Senior Manager – Major Projects (Transition and Strategic Growth) leads GLaWAC’s work to support Gunaikurnai self-determination, sustainable growth and caring for Country. The role leads major projects, strategic policy and advocacy, with a focus on long-term cultural, environmental, social and economic benefits for current and future generations. A key focus is supporting the transition of Country from traditional energy industries to new opportunities. This includes influencing the decommissioning, rehabilitation and future use of former energy sites to uphold Gunaikurnai cultural authority, connection to Country and community wellbeing.
The role also leads GLaWAC’s involvement in major projects across Gunaikurnai Country, ensuring development reflects community priorities, cultural values, environmental responsibility and sustainable economic opportunities. Working closely with the Senior Manager – Major Projects (Renewable Energy), the role supports coordinated Growth and Sustainability outcomes across economic development, stewardship of Country, strategic influence and community benefit.
Essential Skills / Experience
• Experience working with Australian Traditional Owners
• Excellent leadership, communications and written skills
• Understanding of government energy and water strategies, statutory and industry development planning
• Knowledge of the mine remediation and offshore decommissioning.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively engage with community and stakeholders
• Demonstrated capacity to plan, coordinate, organise and deliver work in a self motivated manner.
