Truck Mechanic - Diesel Mechanic

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking to secure the services of an experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanic/Truck Mechanic who takes pride in maintaining machinery to the highest standard and wants a variety of work every day. No day will be the same. Your strong work ethic, mechanical knowledge, and positive attitude will contribute to our success while having a real impact on our customers outcomes. Main Duties and Responsibilities 

·        Servicing, minor repairs, and diagnostic work of range of vehicles including service utes, light trucks, civil construction equipment, and Highway Trucks.

·        Mentor and coach apprentices

·        Complete accurate paperwork and maintenance of records

·        Assist in coordinating and managing contractors and suppliers

·        Completing work to a high standard

·        Assist in developing fleet maintenance history

·        Work autonomously and unsupervised

·        Follow company policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Skills & Qualifications

·         Strong commitment to health and safety

·        Trade Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant Technician. Long term experience will also be considered.

·        Experience with maintenance and servicing of variety of vehicle and truck models – Hino, Isuzu, Ford, Sitrak, Fuso, UD, DAF, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Iveco, MAN, Volvo.

·        Experience with Vac Truck and light civil construction equipment maintenance will be highly regarded

·        Knowledge and experienced in diagnostics, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, diesel systems, auto electrical, air conditioning and hydraulic repairs.

·        HR and Forklift licence highly regarded
