About the role:

Centralised Energy Services (CES) delivers embedded electricity networks, centralised hot water and other utility-based solutions into high-density residential and commercial buildings across Australia, supporting close to 500,000 customer accounts across more than 8,000 buildings nationally. The CES Senior Contracts Manager is a critical commercial partner to the CES team, advising, negotiating and developing customer and purchase agreements with developers, builders and owners corporations.

This is a fixed-term 11 month secondment, reporting directly to the Group Manager, CES Commercial. Melbourne is preferred, but Sydney or Brisbane based applications will also be considered.

You'll manage and negotiate CES's customer agreements with developers and owners corporations, from standard terms through to complex, bespoke negotiationsYou'll be the key business partner with the CES sales team on contractual disputes and commercial events, recommending options and negotiating outcomes directly with counterpartiesYou'll partner with Legal, Tax and Procurement, briefing in expert advice and keeping contracts moving efficientlyYou'll help reshape CES's standard contract suite to make it more competitive in-market while protecting Origin's commercial positionYou'll provide day-to-day commercial contracts advice to the CES Leadership team

What will you bring?

Experience in contracts, commercial or procurement, ideally with exposure to business-unit-side contracting rather than standard-terms-only environmentsContract literacy - comfortable drafting and reviewing agreements and understanding contract legal concepts (a legal degree is not required)Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder skills, with a commercial rather than purely legal mindsetConfidence engaging directly with sales teams, counterparties and LegalSound judgement on when to bring in legal or specialist support versus resolving matters directly

Energy market knowledge is a plus, but not essential – you can build this on the job.
