About the role
Tasty One is a leading Australian-owned food manufacturer supplying fresh produce to major retailers across Australia. Operating from our modern facility in Melbourne's west, we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys diagnosing faults, solving problems and keeping production equipment running efficiently. If you're mechanically minded with some electrical fault-finding experience, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of food processing and packaging equipment to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to mechanical breakdowns and production equipment faults
Performing preventative and reactive maintenance
Diagnosing mechanical faults and assisting with electrical fault finding
Maintaining motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic and automated equipment
Replacing components including sensors, switches and motors
Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Completing maintenance documentation and records
Working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
A Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (or equivalent maintenance experience)
Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
Experience working with motors, conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems
A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and within a team
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
Food manufacturing or FMCG environments
PLC fault finding (programming not required)
Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Preventative maintenance programs or CMMS
Continuous production environments
