Education Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistant for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants would assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You would provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students is highly desirable.

We value applicants who possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which would be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will ideally be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will ideally participate in professional learning opportunities to further build your skills and knowledge. In joining our dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, you should be willing to contribute and work as part of this team and display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
• obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
