Diesel/Trailer Mechanic

Our container transport division continues to expand rapidly, and we are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic or Trailer Mechanic to join our high-performing team at the Port of Brisbane.

Location: Port of Brisbane, QLD

Diagnose & Repair
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across diesel trucks and trailers, including fuel systems, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components.

Routine Maintenance
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and reliability.

Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate service and repair records, ensuring compliance and clear communication with management.

Safety Compliance
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

• Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working on heavy transport trucks and trailers

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across a range of heavy vehicles and trailer systems

• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

• Effective communication skills

• HR driver’s licence (highly advantageous given recent yard changes)

• Trailer licence (highly beneficial)

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Strong time-management and task prioritisation skills

• Reliable, self-motivated, and adaptable

• Willingness to work flexible shifts as operational requirements evolve

• Professional attitude when working with internal teams and external providers

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of work and safety

• High school certificate or equivalent

• Formal qualification or certification in Diesel Mechanics

• Valid driver’s licence
